NATUREWALK TRUST ACTIVITIES

Our Mission is to inspire people a love for nature, reverence &  respect towards wildlife & its habitat. We carry out the following activities and events towards fulfilment of our mission: –

  1. Experience the nature:

    Nature Trails:
    As a part of our educational activities we do conduct nature trails wherein the participants are introduced to various facets of nature like Trees, Birds, Mammals, Insects, landscape and more. All these activities receive good response and are generally conducted on weekends.
    Kids Activities:
    Young generation is big part of our focus. Every Summer and Winter Holidays, we do conduct wildlife activities for kids. These includes slideshows, film shows, Craft and Wildlife Painting, Story Telling and more.

  2. Meet the experts:

    Film Screenings:
    We conduct Wildlife film Screenings wherein films on various facets of 
    Wildlife are screened followed by interactive educational discussion. Very frequently, film makers themselves are present to screen and answer questions.
    Film Festivals:
    We are associated with many reputed Wildlife film makers across the country. 
    We have a huge collection of Wildlife films focusing on Birds, Mammals, Insects, Reptiles, as well as issue focused documentaries. We do conduct Wildlife Film Festival titled WILD INDIA once a year. Along with films, we have many other activities like workshops, talks, quizzes. These festivals are very well attended enthusiastically by hundreds of people.
    Bird fest:
    Every year, to encourage the hobby of birding, we also organize Bird fest, wherein 
    various experts present their work related to Bird Research & Bird Conservation.
    Slideshows:
    We do conduct wildlife related slideshow for schools, colleges and other like-
    minded organizations. Through slideshow we try to educate the participants about Wildlife, habitats and environment.

  3. Learn what’s out there:

    Nature Library:
    We have a huge collection of Wildlife Books & Magazines and recently with 
    the help of PMC and Corporator Mrs. Manjushree Khardekarwe have started a library at Kothrud, called Nisarg Bal Vachanalaya. Books & Publications:We have developed and published some literature on Wildlife in forms of books and small booklets. The aim is to educate people through these books & publications.

  4. Share Experiences:

    Nature Katta:
    Katta is a Marathi word which means an open platform wherein some expert 
    comes and shares his expertise with the participants. This activity is held every Friday consistently since last many years.
    Kothrud Katta:
    We along with PMC & Corporator Mrs. Manjushree Khardekarhave 
    been conducting wildlife informational session twice a month on Sundays at Kothrud at Nisarga Bal Vachanalaya.
